Paddy O'Leary grew up in Wexford, Ireland, but didn't discover his love and talent for running until he moved to San Francisco. Now, he is returning to Ireland to take on the fastest known time on the self-navigated 115 kilometer Wicklow Round, and to rediscover his home through the lens of running.

This film was a long overdue labor of love. It is easy to get sucked in the rhythm of client projects and leave passion projects on the back burner. This felt like an important recommitment to making the films we love and chasing those stories we just can’t get out of our heads.

In addition to the main film, we made a companion piece based on Christy Moore’s song “The Lost Tribe of the Wicklow Mountains” with words from Dave Lordan’s poem of the same name. This song tugged at our curiosities throughout our time in Ireland and we love the way it incorporates more of the history of this land and its people.

We really enjoy making little films like these, because they enable us to explore this material in a new and different way.
